A.M. Rizzo Apparent Low Bidder on District 1 Crossings

amrizzolightderby 004A.M. Rizzo Electrical Contractors was the apparent low bidder Wednesday on a state Department of Transportation pedestrian signal project in District 1.
The job calls for work on pedestrian signals in 14 towns and cities in the center of the state.
A.M. Rizzo’s bid of $2,088,134.75 was nearly $200,000 lower than the second-low bidder, Electrical Contractors Inc. The highest of the five bidders was Holzner Electric at $4,487,485.50.
The DOT will now forward low bidder paperwork, and assuming the low bid wins the project after the review, a contract could be signed within 30 days, and that contract will specify a start date.
The towns and cities covered by this contract include Hartford, East Hartford, West Hartford, Cheshire, Enfield, Manchester, New Britain, Newington, Rocky Hill, Plainville, Vernon, Wethersfield and Windsor.
